"Old Friends Farm"
I have always been around horses my entire life. When we got the chance to be able to help organizations that have been a huge part of my life I was beyond excited. Two big places that I have taken on helping are my dad’s farm, Endeavor Farm, and Old Friends Farm, which is a non-profit organization that cares for retired racehorses. At Endeavor Farm I have created a photo book that displays the farm and what it’s all about. The photo book contains pictures that I took at the farm but also at Churchill Downs and Keeneland Racetracks. After taking all the pictures I edited them in Photoshop and arranged them into a photo book. I tried to do little editing to them to show the farms true beautify. I did basic colorization to the photos The cover page includes the farms logo and a picture of the main barn. Each page is full of pictures of the farm and the two tracks. I put a black boarder around each picture so the pictures didn’t run together. There are three copies of the photo book at the farm. One is in the main office where those who come can see it. The other two are in each of the two apartment suites at the farm for guests who are staying there can look at them. The other organization is Old Friends Farm, a companion and friend to Endeavor Farm. For them I have created a promotional video that talks about how the farm came about. It is also the first video in the Old Friends Academy library. Old Friends Academy is the educational side to the program. I am continuing to work on this project and I plan to have a new video for the academy every two or three weeks. To make this video I went to the farm on several different occasions. I went afterschool and on weekends to film and conduct the interview. I shadowed a tour and walked around myself. I then edited the videos in final cut pro. I did color corrections to all the videos and I took away all the background noise to the b-roll and fixed the audio of the interview to remove the background noise. I added music to the video to make the video flow better and truly pull it all together. The music is royalty free obtained from YouTube's royalty free music library. At the end of the video I then added the information for each of the 3 old friends location, as there are two smaller locations, one at Kentucky Downs and one in New York. I have also created a calendar for Old Friends for the 2016 year. I took pictures at Old Friends when I was filming. I edited the pictures in Photoshop and did some basic color correcting and I used the healing brush tool to get rid of flies and any unwanted things in the pictures like mud or discolorations in the horses. I took the edited pictures and made the calendar using apple projects. I added basic holidays.. I used the calendar they had for 2015 as a model for my calendar to keep the same feel. For December I did a collage of pictures of past horses at the farm to remember the horses that were a big part of the farm in the beginning stages. Another thing they had asked me to do was to make a t-shirt that can be given to people who attend a certain number of seminars they plan to start as a thank you for their support. I downloaded a t-shirt template and make it green like the farm colors. I used the yellow farm color when adding the logo to the t-shirt in Photoshop I used the text tool to type and on the back I used the warped text tool so the text was arced a little in the middle to flow a little more. I am continuing the old friends farm project creating short informational videos for their library about a variety of topics. I also continue to help out at the farms with pictures for their websites and pictures for clients.

"Labels"
The project that we made is about how stereotypes affect people of the LGBTQA+ community. At school and in other public places, homophobia is showcased often enough that we knew we had to do something to spread awareness about how it affects the victims. Our project consists of a short film, a song, a poster, and stickers. We created the poster and stickers to create awareness of our project, and passed them out to other students. We filmed the short film with an iPhone 5C and then moved it into iMovie, where we edited all of the shots to fit what we had visioned. The editing techniques were all very thought out so that the audience would know exactly what we were trying to get across as the message. The short film tells a story of a girl getting kicked out because she came out of the closet as a lesbian to her parents. After being kicked out, she takes a pair of scissors and carves “Dyke” into her forehead since that is an insult many lesbians receive because of their sexuality. The girl eventually finds a group that helps her realize she is much more than that, and labels don’t define us unless we let them. We wanted our film to make the audience know that everyone has a story, and no one deserves to be hurt just because they’re being who they are. The poster and stickers were made in Adobe Photoshop CS5, and the song was recorded with Garage Band and written originally both lyrically and musically by us. We worked very hard on all aspects of our project so that we could influence how people thought for the better.
