"Shoes"
Brayden W.
This photo is of my nephew Lincoln’s shoes with mine behind them to show perspective. I took this picture to show how fast kids really do grow up and how much our bodies change and grow over time. I wanted to be able to remind my brother and his wife of their pride and joy even when he is grown up. I took this photo on the floor of their living room using only natural lighting. The equipment I used was a canon 7D with a 50mm 1.8 lens. I used manual exposure and the settings of 1/250th, ISO 800, F1.8. The only editing done to the photo was sharpening and a black and white filter added in light room. I used symmetry to give a better idea of how small the shoes are compared to mine - I wanted to create balance but also to sort of show the before and after aspect of growing up. The photo is in black and white to give a more clear comparison of shoes with no distractions of color.

"Friends"
‘Friends’ is a photo taken last winter of my brother and his dog, Casey. In the photo, my brother has just finished shoveling a path clear for horses on our farm to walk, and is sitting taking a break, with Casey lovingly at his side. The two share an inseparable bond, and Casey will often follow Asa around as he works. I took this photo to show their bond, and how they stick together even through the roughest weather, and the hardest work. The photo was taken with an open aperture, and a 400 shutter speed to capture the snow. I then went into Photoshop, and took out the saturation to make it black and white.
